Visitors from California and Washington (10/16/11)

A few weeks ago one of our very dear friends, Kurt Suzuk-I mean, Justin Lee, came for a visit. When we were still living in Millbrae he told us he would come out for a visit...and he did! We realize it is a very far distance and so when people tell us they are going to come visit, we think to ourselves, "that would be so fun, but we don't really expect it to happen." Justin proved us wrong. We had a blast. Before he arrived, Ben and I discussed what we wanted to do while Justin was here. We thought he had already been to Philly once before so figured he wouldn't need to see all the usual stuff we take people to (Liberty Bell, Rocky steps, etc.). We agreed that we could just sit on the couch with him and chill for the whole weekend and be totally content, that's how much we looked forward to just talking to him in person. Turns out we did plenty of couch-sitting/catching up and a little more and here are some pictures (wish I had taken some more!)
reunited at last (apparently Peter had been looking forward to Justin's visit more than we realized)

I don't think we've ever seen him this social with a guest.

AND THEN this past week we had yet another dear friend visit....Jake Vanderplas! It was so fitting to end our anniversary celebration weekend (pictures to come on that) with the best man himself. Jake was in town for work/conference/etc. and seeing as how he knows Philly better than we do, he introduced Ben to a nice place to hear some bluegrass. Again, I wish I had taken some more pictures but at least I got one for proof that he was here. So good to see him and catch up on life and hear about his recent IRON MAN. So amazing.

Again, Peter shocked us with his social skills that have been missing since birth.
We have been so blessed by all the visits from friends since we moved here. We were counting up all the people that have come to visit and we're averaging at least two per month! Incredible! I'll put together a post of just all the visits soon. God could not have been more generous in the encouraging times we've shared with people we love in Philly...and He's not done yet...=)
