Kristin and I spent the weekend in Washington D.C. with Peter, Kara, and their daughter Annalise. We also had a chance to see our dear friends Josh and Audrey Dunlop as well as their bundle of joy, Ruby. I don't have any pictures of our friends, but I think Krstin might post some later. Instead I have pictures of random things that I really liked at the Smithsonians.
Starting off: The original outfit of Harry Potter, way cool
The real vest worn by Gene Kranz, made famous by Ed Harris in the movie Appollo 13. Gene was the commander of the opporation which brought the astronauts home safely.
Above: the new MLK Statue by the river in the Mall. It was impressive, as well as made by a Chinese man...
Below: Abraham Lincoln's hat, the original hat.
Above: Kristin, the cat woman, by the "Catwoman" outfit of the old, and best, Batman television show. BOOM! PoW! Krackkk!!
Below: Van Halen's guitar, ERRRUPPPTIONNN! Also Tony Hawk's original skateboard, cool I guess...
Above: original muppets, kermit looks weird. No Ralph the dog, who was my favorite, I mean a dog who can play piano is pretty awesome.
Below: a old comic illustrating the reason for Labor Day. I guess it makes sense, but also kind of weird, oh how times have changed.
Above: They had a whole section on just the First Lady's as well as their dresses. This was Michelle Obama's. Despite what you may think of her husband, I think Michelle has style and class.
Above: Kristin by the two women whose husbands she has had the opportunity to vote for presidency. (I think she's by the one she likes the most)
Above: General Hancock. This guy is pretty important if you know the battle of Gettysburg. He was best friends with General Lou Armisted. Both men served their country well, and both died, (Hancock later from wounds) fighting each others forces the last day of the battle at Pickett's Charge. Watch the movie "Gettysburg" to get a better description of the story.
Below: Cats
