Last Tuesday we celebrated my one month birthday! And by celebrated I mean I was extra fussy that day and Mama handed me to Dad as soon as he got home and then had a glass of wine and finished a whole chocolate bar all by herself. The next day was way more fun and Mama caught a couple of pictures of me sleeping.
My friends Adelaide and Annalise came up from DC with their parents to meet me. We had a great day together and I can't wait until I can play with them (let alone sit with them without help).
More of Mama's friends have stopped by to meet me. I feel so safe in the hands of nurses :)
Nose.
The polar vortex is still in full swing. Can you see my Daddy trying to dig out our car from the ice?
As a Philly girl I'm learning the importance of doing things like this.
So that this doesn't happen.
The parents ordered take-out and rented a movie for Valentine's Day. I can't think of why they wouldn't want to try taking me to a restaurant or theater. Either way, we had a nice time. Here's Dad with his Valentine.
Mom thought she could save a few bucks and take some cute baby pictures of me on her own. By my red and puffy eyes and evidence of headband readjustment, you might be able to tell I was not on board with her plan.
Mom makes me spend time on my tummy every day. I don't seem to mind it for at least a minute.
I'm happy to report that bath time is much more enjoyable. Sponge baths weren't really my thing but when Dad gets in the tub with me, I could stay in all day.
I seem to be improving my ability to consolidate my sleep into longer naps, but some days I like to mix things up and take lots of little cat naps with Mama.
Don't get me wrong, I still wake up a lot at night. To help Mama wake up better, I'm extremely adorable in the middle of the night.
I like to keep him on his toes too.
Mom came back and found us like this next.
Last weekend I visited Valley Forge for the first time. It was so warm! But then again, before last weekend, I didn't know what anything warmer than 40 degrees felt like. In case you're wondering (because like 5 people on the trail asked), that's me in Mom's coat. Not a puppy.
The orange one seems to have found a new friend.
The first month of life went well. My parents are very tired, cranky with each other at times, and some days I don't think Mom showers. But overall I'd say life outside the womb has been pretty fantastic for all of us. Will check back in at 2 months.
